GoMoku Rules are more or less the same as the Renju Rules. Actually is GoMoku what most players first learn before they learn how to play Renju. It is considered as a friendly family game while Renju is considered a serious sport. The problem with GoMoku is that the players who starts (black) can always win the game. Here are the rules that makes Renju different to GoMoku:
- Black player is not allowed to make the 3×3 fork.
- Black player is not allowed to make the 4×4 fork.
- Black player is not allowed to make an overline (6 or more stones in a row).
